Posting for a friend (really!) ... who is looking for a very inexpensive (read "really cheap") car for the Chumpcar World Series. Only a very limited amount of money can be spent on these cars, like really limited.
From the Chumpcar GCR: "Not including the required safety equipment that you’ll need – roll-cage, racing seat, racing harness -- your car must be valued at less than $500. That’s valued at, as assessed by the general market… not what you paid for it."
This "team" is expecting to pay for the safety equipment (cage, racing seat, harness, etc.) and/or extra parts and pieces beyond the $500 "value" for the race car.
So this is an opportunity for someone to unload the hulk that they don't know what to do with. Ideally the car should run (or be capable of running without a ton of work) and already have a cage (these guys would rather not put a cage in).
This team has trailers and haulers ready to roll. They would like to enter the Chumpcar event at Road America April 21st and 22nd. Friday (April 13th) should be payday for these guys, so they expect to be able to pay cash.
So if you have something or know of something, give Jim a call @ 920-980-1775 ... he is waiting for your call.
