Default Announcement

In 2010, Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. will be celebrating it’s 25th consecutive year as a supplier of racing tires to SCCA Club Racing. The past 25 years with SCCA has produced a vast number of positive relationships between our customers and the people that administer the activities and events.

Currently, there is a lot of conversation circulating regarding the FF sector of SCCA Club Racing. A segment of that conversation historically gravitates to the need to reduce the cost of racing these cars. The topic that becomes most targeted for discussion is the tires.

These FF tire cost issues can be debated forever. The “perfect” tire that wears like iron, produces record-breaking speed, and costs next to nothing, may never become a reality in our lifetimes. However, at Hoosier, we are focused on a solution. Hoosier currently offers a front and rear tire configuration intended for Club FF. The front tire being a 43130 20.0x6.0-13 R60A and the rear tire being a 43307 22.5x7.2-13 R60A. This configuration has been widely used and accepted by regional competitors in The Northeast, Southeast, Central and Great Lakes Divisions. Customer feedback consistently praises this tire as extremely acceptable for wear, heat cycles, and performance. In areas where this tire has been adapted, Hoosier and their distributors have accompanied the use of these tires with contingency programs and discounts. While these programs have been relatively successful, we feel there is a way to offer these tires in a program that benefits all participants. The key to this program is to convert the cost of contingencies, etc. into a “rock-bottom” price for these tires in order to produce a dramatic cost reduction for all

The current MSRP for these tires are as follows:

43130 20.0x6.0-13 R60A, $161.00 ea.
43307 22.5x7.2-13 R60A, $193.00 ea.
Total: $708.00 per set

Our proposal to all SCCA regions that adopt these tires as a spec tire for their CFF and/or FF classes is to make these tires available at the following prices:

43130 20.0x6.0-13 R60A, $125.00 ea.
43307 22.5x7.2-13 R60A, $150.00 ea.
Total: $550.00 per set

If you are interested in this program, please contact the Hoosier Distributor for your region or contact me at Hoosier Racing Tire Corp.

I contacted Terry Gilvin of Hoosier Tire Midwest and I'm pleased to announce that MC will be included in their new price program.
