MEETING OF MIDWESTERN COUNCIL BOARDS – January 14, 2010 EXECUTIVE BOARD President Cassaro called the meeting to order at 8:06 PM. It was ascertained that a quorum was present. All officers were present and clubs were represented as follows: CSCC-Best, Wells; FT-Brozynski, Wheeler; GLSCC-Kannard, Schley; LSCC-Karth, Martin; MSCC-Anderson, Krebs; NSSCC-Dudek, Serra; SCSCC-Cromas, Lewis; SCCR-P.Green, Rehberg. M(Wheeler) & 2(Kannard) to approve the minutes of the December meeting as printed. Pass. TREASURER’S REPORT: Year-end ’09 and January ’10 reports were distributed. M(Wheeler) & 2(Lewis) to accept the reports as presented. Pass. OLD BUSINESS Ø2010 Schedule Update: One available RA date was up for bidding and the MC reps were outbid. RA stated that there will be no club events for 2011 also; Pro and SCCA Natl. events will take up the schedule. The Autobahn N. event no club picked up was taken by another group, but that may not pan out. Cassaro asked that should a private sponsor show interest in that date if it became available, would the Board sanction the event. The GCR doesn’t specifically address the issue; in the Bylaws, Art. 13 Section 2 leaves the possibility open. M(Wheeler) & 2(J.Boldt) that an individual be allowed to sponsor one MC-sanctioned event at Autobahn N. M(Jackson) & 2(several) to amend motion to specify the sponsor. Amendment accepted. Cassaro Enterprises would be the sponsor. Motion passed. Cassaro will go for the date if it is available. ØFacebook Advertising: There have been 956,000 impressions since last Nov. There are 110 members listed, and there have been driver school inquiries. ØBanquet: About 200 reservations have been made. Beverage donations: SCCR-$250, GL-$250, FT-$250, SC-$250, NS-$350, LSCC-$250, MSCC-$250. Free race entry donations: FT-1 W-W or AX, SCCR-1 W-W or AX, LSCC-1 W-W for Apr. 18, NS-1 W-W or AX, CSCC-1 Long Race entry, Cassaro-1 W-W or AX at Autobahn N, MSCC-1 W-W or AX or HPDE for Memorial Day weekend, GL-1W-W entry for July 18. M(Wheeler) & 2(Martin) to include a free entry for a non-MC-licensed driver for a driver school. Pass. ØThere will be a finance committee meeting on Jan. 20 here at 7:30. NEW BUSINESS ØHSAX Permanent Numbers: Cassaro sent an email to all drivers registered in the system that the numbers are now open. ØWebsite Update: Cassaro will meet Tues. with the web designer and is looking for input. ØDriver Schools: Inquiries have been made from potential attendees. Wheeler and Cassaro will tweak entry forms and process the information. Harlan will be registrar. Fees will remain the same. NS is having its indoor school, and registration for it is on MyAutoEvents. They have 249 entries, and the limit is 250. Clubs are welcome to help. Costs incurred are insurance, printing, and others. M(Martin) & 2(Wheeler) that the MC give NS $500 to defray expenses, as the event benefits the MC as a whole. Pass. ØTech Day: Advance Autosports (Wheeler) is offering space to hold it. He will arrange it with Weis. COMPETITION BOARD OLD BUSINESS ØAutocross Committee: No news – no meeting date. ØRace Staff: Committee chair and director are needed. ØSteward Committee: Next meeting is Feb. 20, 7 PM, Backyard Grill & Bar.. ØSpec Miata Rule Changes: Wheeler will get them together to present. NEW BUSINESS ØBanshee Formula Car: It is similar to a FF with 1600cc air-cooled VW power plant. It could run in Unr. with the large formula group for this season and then be evaluated. ØFormula Committee: May look at Honda-powered cars in FF if they appear. Information is on Forums. Hoosier Tire offered to drivers in regions running CFF a good deal to stay with their tires.
